EVA Air is set to launch the first-ever direct aviation service linking Taiwan and India, according to FlightGlobal. Starting 1 December, the Taipei-based carrier will operate flights between Taipei and Delhi, marking a significant milestone as the only airline to provide a non-stop connection between these two regions. The carrier intends to deploy its Airbus A330-300 aircraft for this service.

Operational Specifications

According to reports, the Star Alliance member plans to offer five weekly flights on this route. The scheduling is intentionally synchronized to align with the airline's existing network to North America, positioning Taipei as a primary transit hub for passengers traveling between the Indian subcontinent and North American destinations. This move serves as a strategic alternative for travelers currently routing through other major Asian or Middle East hubs.

EVA Air president Clay Sun highlighted that the decision is rooted in the tightening economic ties between Taiwan and India, particularly within the manufacturing, semiconductor, artificial intelligence, and technology sectors. To facilitate expanded reach within the Indian market, EVA Air will leverage its existing partnership with Air India, allowing for improved connectivity to domestic Indian destinations beyond Delhi.
