Czech-based turnout manufacturer DT – Výhybkárna a Strojírna has completed the delivery of 14 turnouts and three crossings for the Istanbul metro network, according to Railway Gazette. The components are designated for both new line construction and the ongoing maintenance of existing infrastructure within the city.
The project involved two separate procurement contracts. The first was initiated by construction firm CFG Çelikler, which ordered 10 turnouts featuring manganese steel crossings specifically for the M14 metro line, a segment currently being developed to link Altunizade with Bosna Bulvarı. A second contract was executed directly with Istanbul’s municipal metro operator, covering four turnouts and three additional crossings. These units are equipped with explosion-hardened manganese-steel components and are intended to serve as strategic spare parts for use across the broader metropolitan rail network.
